Curious about the potential timing of international X2O releases? On May 19, 2026, David Schmidt said, “For the international market, we're going to plan an incentive where leaders first can get access to X2O sometime in July or after July, that'll be through Europe, Japan and South Korea, and then we're looking like we're going to do a soft launch of X2O in Europe, Japan and South Korea in November...that would be the target. No promises on that, though. No promises, and that would mean if we hit that timing, it's all looking very good. If we hit that timing, that means the first quarter of 2027 we would be able to have X2O in Europe, Japan and South Korea. So that's the plan, getting X2O into Canada, very straightforward. So we're getting set up for that. We also want to get X2O down to Australia, that's a market that we've looked at that looks pretty straightforward, but that's probably in 2027 and of course we want to try to make it available to everyone, everywhere”

X2O Water Machine:
Comprehensive
Frequently Asked Questions
-
LifeWave describes X2O as the first hydration system to infuse water with light. It combines patented light-infusion technology, dual-stage filtration and molecular-hydrogen enrichment in one automated countertop system.
-
The X2O filters approved source water, enriches it with molecular hydrogen and processes it using LifeWave’s patented light-infusion technology. LifeWave designed the resulting Light-Infused Water™ to support hydration, energy and general wellness.
-
Water placed in the two-liter reservoir moves through a primary filtration stage and a secondary filtration and hydrogen-enrichment stage. The filtered water then enters the system’s light-processing chambers. The automated treatment cycle takes approximately 45 minutes.
-
No. Filtration is one component of the system, but the X2O also enriches the water with dissolved molecular hydrogen and processes it with patented light-infusion technology. It should therefore not be evaluated solely as a conventional countertop water filter.

About the LifeWave X2O
-
LifeWave’s current product materials describe X2O water as being designed to:
Optimize hydration at the cellular level
Support metabolism and nutrient absorption
Support bioelectrical activity, energy and circulation
Provide antioxidant properties through dissolved molecular hydrogen
Complement LifeWave’s patches and Cellergize supplements
Support a person’s general wellness routine
These are general-wellness descriptions, not claims that the X2O diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents a disease.
-
No particular experience is guaranteed. LifeWave reports that some people notice changes quickly, sometimes within seconds or minutes, while others may notice more subtle effects with consistent daily use—or may not perceive an immediate difference. Individual experiences vary.
-
LifeWave says some users report noticing effects within seconds or less than a minute after drinking the water. That should not be interpreted as a promise that everyone will have an immediate or noticeable response.
-
LifeWave says sensations such as improved hydration or energy may sometimes be noticed for several hours. Experiences vary, and more research is needed to understand the short- and long-term effects of light-infused water.
-
No. LifeWave positions X2O as a general-wellness product. It is not presented as a medical treatment and should not be represented as diagnosing, treating, curing or preventing any disease or medical condition.
-
No. People should not discontinue medication, delay medical care or disregard advice from a qualified healthcare professional because they are using X2O water. Anyone with health concerns should discuss changes to their wellness routine with an appropriate healthcare provider.
-
LifeWave provides scientific references and supporting materials related to its light-processing technology. Published discovery and pre-pilot research has also examined physiological measurements following consumption of water processed with earlier versions of LifeWave’s technology. These exploratory studies should not be presented as proof that X2O treats disease or guarantees a particular outcome. More research is needed.
-
Dissolved molecular hydrogen may provide antioxidant support and may help reduce oxidative stress. Research into hydrogen-rich water has explored areas such as exercise capacity, endurance and oxidative stress, but LifeWave acknowledges that additional studies are needed to establish the extent of these potential benefits and the mechanisms involved.
-
The appearance of the water should remain generally unchanged. The X2O’s processing is not expected to create a visible permanent color or appearance change.
-
LifeWave describes the system as producing smoother, more refreshing and better-tasting water. Taste is subjective and may also depend on the source water being used.
Benefits and Expectations
-
Place the system on a flat, stable countertop, connect the supplied power cord directly to a grounded outlet and fill the reservoir with an approved water type. The unit powers on automatically when connected. The filters must be flushed before the system is used for the first time. Follow the Quick Start Guide, User Manual and on-screen directions.
-
No. The X2O is designed for continuous operation and does not include a conventional on/off button. It powers on automatically when connected to electricity.
-
The system is designed to operate continuously for optimal performance. Use the supplied power equipment, connect the unit directly to a grounded outlet and avoid using a power strip or extension cord as a permanent connection.
-
The system requires approximately 45 minutes to filter, enrich and light-process the water. Once processing is complete, the touchscreen will indicate that water is ready to dispense.
-
One serving is approximately 450 milliliters, or 15 fluid ounces. LifeWave recommends placing a glass with a capacity of at least 500 milliliters or 16 ounces under the dispensing outlet.
-
The X2O contains two independent processing chambers and can have two 450-milliliter servings ready. When one serving is dispensed, that chamber begins a new approximately 45-minute treatment cycle.
-
The two servings are processed independently. After one glass is dispensed, that chamber begins preparing its next glass. The timer displays the time remaining until the next serving is available, so the displayed time can vary depending on when each previous glass was dispensed. This is normal.
-
When both available servings are dispensed together, the system needs approximately 45 minutes to prepare the next two servings. The touchscreen indicates when another glass is ready.
-
LifeWave does not state a daily operating limit. The machine may be used repeatedly, although heavier use can cause the filters to reach their capacity sooner.
-
LifeWave’s standard recommendation is one 450-milliliter or 15-ounce glass per day. X2O water is intended to supplement—not replace—a person’s normal daily water intake.
-
LifeWave recommends drinking one serving in the morning after waking, preferably on an empty stomach. The water is recommended at room temperature without ice.
-
LifeWave recommends morning consumption, preferably on an empty stomach, but individual routines and healthcare considerations may differ. The current official instructions do not specify a required waiting period before eating, taking supplements or taking medication.
-
LifeWave recommends drinking the water at room temperature without ice for the intended experience.
-
The system dispenses water at approximately room temperature—68°F to 77°F, or 20°C to 25°C. It does not function as a refrigerator or hot-water dispenser.
-
LifeWave instructs users to dispense X2O water into a glass container and not into a plastic container. Use a glass capable of holding at least 500 milliliters or 16 ounces.
-
For the intended experience, LifeWave recommends drinking it promptly after dispensing. To cool it slightly, the FAQ supplied by LifeWave says it may be refrigerated for approximately one hour.
-
LifeWave describes the water as being in a charged state after processing and recommends consuming it immediately after dispensing rather than storing it for an extended period.
-
Water remaining within the system can be used later. It passes through the light-processing stage before being dispensed. Nevertheless, water should not remain unused in the removable reservoir for an extended period.
-
LifeWave does not recommend boiling X2O water because heating it to boiling may reduce the intended effects of its processing.
-
LifeWave does not recommend using the processed water in applications that require boiling. It is designed primarily to be consumed directly as dispensed.
-
LifeWave says animal trials have not been conducted and recommends X2O water for human consumption only.

Approved Water Sources
Filtration and Hydrogen Enrichment
-
The X2O uses two filtration stages before the water enters the light-processing stage. The primary stage is designed to reduce a broad range of impurities commonly found in municipal water. The secondary stage further processes the water and adds molecular hydrogen.
-
LifeWave says its primary filter is designed to reduce a broad range of impurities found in municipal tap water. However, the filter in the final X2O product configuration is still undergoing accredited testing, state registrations and full NSF-certification work. Until formal performance documentation is available, LifeWave must avoid publishing a specific list or percentage of contaminant-reduction claims.
-
LifeWave states that the primary filter technology is undergoing accredited laboratory testing, state registration and full NSF certification in the X2O product configuration. It should not presently be represented as having completed full NSF certification unless LifeWave releases updated documentation confirming that status.
-
The primary filter forms the core of the system’s contaminant-reduction process and is designed to reduce a broad range of impurities associated with municipal tap water.
-
The secondary stage further processes the water and participates in the hydrogen-enrichment process before the water enters the light-processing chambers.
-
No. Molecular hydrogen is H₂ dissolved in water. Hydrogen peroxide is H₂O₂ and is a different substance. The X2O enriches water with molecular hydrogen; it does not add hydrogen peroxide. LifeWave’s official materials describe dissolved H₂ as potentially offering antioxidant support.
-
LifeWave describes the system as filtering the water, enriching it with dissolved molecular hydrogen and processing it with selected wavelengths of light. Its materials do not describe the light-processing stage as adding a drug or medicinal ingredient.
Reservoir, Capacity and Placement
-
The removable reservoir holds up to two liters. When filling it, LifeWave recommends leaving approximately one inch of space below the top to reduce spilling or splashing.
-
Replace the reservoir water every two to three days to maintain freshness. Changing it daily is also acceptable.
-
No. LifeWave does not recommend leaving water in the reservoir for a lengthy period. Empty and replace it at least every two to three days.
-
LifeWave does not recommend adding an antibacterial solution to the reservoir. Instead, change the water every two to three days and follow the approved cleaning and maintenance procedures.
-
Place it indoors on a flat, stable countertop with at least two inches of clearance behind it for ventilation. It should not be turned sideways or upside down while water remains inside.
-
LifeWave recommends operating the system in an ambient temperature of approximately 60°F to 80°F, or 16°C to 27°C.
-
No. The User Manual identifies it as an indoor household appliance.
-
LifeWave instructs users not to operate the system at altitudes above 5,000 meters.
In the USA, altitudes above 5,000 meters (16,404 feet) are found exclusively in Alaska on a small group of ultra-high mountain peaks. No other states in the U.S. reach this altitude; for comparison, the highest peaks in the contiguous U.S. and Hawaii peak out under 4,500 meters.

After replacing either filter
After an extended period of inactivity
-
No. Collect and discard the flushed water. Do not pour it back into the reservoir.
-
The X2O unit does not have a stated shelf life or expiration date. Continued performance depends on proper maintenance, approved water, filter changes and adherence to the User Manual.
Filters and Maintenance
-
Follow the current User Manual and LifeWave’s official cleaning video. The removable reservoir, reservoir components, cup grate and drip tray should be cleaned regularly and allowed to dry thoroughly before reassembly. Use gentle, food-safe cleaning products where instructed.
-
Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, steel wool, scouring pads or other abrasive products that may damage the unit. Use soft, nonabrasive materials such as lint-free cloths, cotton towels or paper towels for local water absorption.
-
Yes. Mineral sediment may accumulate when hard water is used. LifeWave recommends cleaning the system every three to six months, depending on source-water quality.
-
No. Cleaning the reservoir and external components does not restore an exhausted filter. Filters must still be replaced approximately every six months or when the system alerts you.
Cleaning the X2O
Moving and Transporting the Machine
-
LifeWave does not recommend moving the unit after water has passed through it. Residual water can shift internally, temporarily affect performance or cause damage.
-
Completely drain the system using the touchscreen’s System Drain function, keep the unit upright and keep it in your possession throughout transportation. Follow the official transport guide before moving it.
-
No. LifeWave says a used unit should not be shipped by courier, postal carrier or freight service for personal relocation, demonstrations or use at another location. It must remain in your possession and stay upright during transportation.
